Dicoogle is a Free PACS server software and open source available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Pacs Engines has  allows to index and query DICOM studies/files over a set of distributed repositories.

Dicoogle has capability to search locally and in distributed system (P2P network). The query and retrieval mechanism follow different users’ needs. Skilled users can fine tune search sentences to improve the retrieved results. Using the “Free text” mode, the user inserts the query text, and the search is made in all the indexed fields. Like in web search engines, it is also possible to use Boolean operators to refine the query. Additionally, there are several other functionalities available, such as nearby terms and flexible range search.

Conquest is a full featured DICOM server has been developed based on and heavily extending the public domain

The Conquest DICOM server offering storage, verification, query and retrieve with programmable SQL database tables. This user-programmable feature allows the MicroPACS to be custom tailored to a particular Clinical/Research area.

The server supports a wide range of databases with ODBC (Windows) or without (Windows/Linux), including DbaseIII, MySQL, Postgres and SqLite.

The Conquest DICOM software was written by Marcel van Herk and Lambert Zijp at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.We have decided to provide our extended DICOM software also to the public domain. Conquest is a full featured DICOM server has been developed based on and heavily extending the public domain UCDMC DICOM code developed by Mark Oskin when he was at the Medical Center of the University of California at Davis.
